Nick Cave and The Birthday Party or Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds? Or Nick Cave solo?

Yeah...tha Birthday party were anarchic drug fuelled geniuses
...but the Badseeds definitely had more musical ability..or perhaps fewr drugs in their systems and therefore could find the right strings and sticks with regularity.
LOL!!
I'm an aussie who spent many 80's years in London
,.......having seen both incarnatiions live more times than I had hot dinners in those days
....Badseeds definitely rule!!

I love Nick Cave in all of his various roles... I didn't read the answers. Did anyone mention Nick Cave and Tom Waits ?
I really can't, but I guess I'd go with The Badseeds Myself if I had to choose..
but a songwriters song writer like NC offers so many variations that a "Favorite" is almost impossible

This is a tough one because each chapter of Nick Cave recording history has been just amazing; I am really struggling with this one…..
1… Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
2… The Birthday Party
3. Nick Cave.
Hey Eartha, thanks a million for that, I have spent my afternoon watch The Birthday Party etc on you tube…should be working but what are Fridays for but enjoying yourself!!!! Yeah old enough to remember The Birthday Party, God help me!!!

I'm with Sean on this. Nick is a phenomenal performer. I wish I could have seen NC&BS in the 80s and early to mid 90s. I've watched some of their live stuff and was in awe. So much energy. Now that both Blixa and Mick are gone, I'm rather sad. I'd see them live if I got the chance, but seeing them without two of their longest running members would leave a long time fan like me feeling empty. You know what I mean?
So, for the record...
1. NC&BS
2. The Birthday Party
3. Nick Cave Solo

i'm going with the Bad Seeds just because Blixa Bargeld is a bit of a hero of mine... though i love the Birthday Party... they're just so twisted... ace, unhinged music!
i actually don't know much of Nick Cave's solo stuff :s

I do like when he sang with kylie menogue wild rose.
