People have been having sex with their cousins and having babies with them for thousands of years(higher chance of birth defects of course).. Obviously its not as much as now.. But some people in underdeveloped countries (perhaps many developing ones) still marry within their family.

Do you have any feelings for them or was it just a random thing? If there are feelings wrapped into this then you guys seriously need to sit down and talk about it. It could cause problems with in the family. However, if you guys really really love each other---then hey, you love who you love.
If this was just a one night stand...still talk about it. Agree on something that you both can agree on. Like moving forward, not discuss it, dont tell anyone in the family, etc.
Although talking about it may be awkward it will clear up any questons you both have. Plus, sitting at family gathering looking at eachother not knowing whats up could be even more awkward.
