Who buys recycled glass bottles?

Hello
does anyone know a company that will buy re-cycled glass bottles from us we have a re-cycle centre that collect household goods but we are looking in also collecting glass bottles from our customers and we are after a company who will buy them from us in bulk..

Go to www.earth911.com to find local recycle centers, you will get a list with contact info, you may have to check websites or make calls to find a center that pays for glass. In general the recycled materials rates are way down, with the downturn in the economy fewer items are being produced so there is less demand for materials across the board. I've seen news stories saying that the value of recycled materials is down 90%.

Another option is to see if you have any blown glass studios in your area. Any end user would be a more viable option than a recycle center.

call around,,,maybe some companies that make their own bottles (glass companies),,,might wheel and deal with ya.

Another idea may be to contact the artisan societies and offer them price for glass. The glass blowers would likely accept a good deal on clean glass. It would not likely be large orders, but many small orders which means you could charge a higher price/pound without a problem. You may have to crush it first.......
