No, most are not. Clauses, whether independent or subordinate, must contain both a subject and a verb. An independent clause has a subject, a verb, and is, on its own, a complete sentence. A subordinate clause is not a complete sentence on its own, although it has a subject and a verb, because it will contain a subordinating conjunction.

Number 4 is correct. "If" is your conjunction, "triangles" the subject, and "had" the verb.

    Yes they are if you do not include what is in the parentheses. A subordinate clause is a statement that cannot stand on its own. An indpendant clause is a sentance that can stand on its own and still make sense.
