d "of a culture" is the prepositional phrase. It explains what the road map is for (or "of"). Its functional is adjectival (it modifies map)

e. "in France" is the prepositional phrase. It explains where this arty and sporting cooking occurs. It functions as an adjective (most people would think it is adverbial because it modifies the verb "cooking" but that is a gerund, a noun, in this case, so the function is adjectival).

1. "to freedom" and "by death" are both prepositional phrases. The first explains where the road goes. The second explains what is doing the stalking (it functions in that case as an adverbial prepositional phrase).
