What's the venus project?

I've heard about it, and I don't really get the idea as to what it really is. Can someone explain it to me?

- reading the PDF called The Zeitgeist Movement Orientation Guide (free online).
- watching the movie called Future by Design.
- reading the book called Best That Money Can't Buy.
- reading around at www.thevenusproject.com
- reading around at www.thezeitgeistmovement.com (F.A.Q. and even forums are useful).
