What is a good job search engine? Craigslist sucks!!?

Question

like most of the jobs on there are fake. You get an instant reply back sending you to a link to either another job search site, or a free credit check report. WTF is up with that? I can't seem to find a job all summer, and im doing my masters.. anyone else in this boat?

Craigslist is full of spammers and scammers. Just be selective about which ad you respond to. Generally, avoid ads that use a gmail address as the reply to, any ad that promises absurd compensation and any ad full of misspellings or broken/fragmented english. Good job-hunting websites are:

monster
snagajob
indeed
jobs.com

Hotjobs is dying off but you can still check it, its worth a try. It has been my observations that retail/restaurant jobs will require you to come in and fill out an app in person. Don't waste time applying for those type postions online. Do it in person. Also, consider temp agencies as a source of short-term assignments before you go back to school.

I like Careerbuilder.When I was recruiting I found this site to be professional and cover most issues for the applicant and employers.
You can search in a lot of different ways.
You might try a search of your home town or a location you want to move to.
Our local newspaper supports Careerbulder.com. I find many good leads on this site

It is pretty powerful search engine.

There are plenty of good job boards out there, Careerbuilder is the one that I like the most.

Although check out Indeed.com, it's a search engine that will search all of the big job boards for you at one time. Just type in a zip code, or a zip code and a keyword and your on the way. Its a great one stop shop.

Most people are in the same boat right now. The economy sucks right now, and a lot of posters on craigslist wants to take advantage of those who are trying to look for legit jobs. Some of the other job boards that I look at are http://www.workopolis.com and http://www.monster.com
