This flu is spread exactly as any other flu strain. You can protect yourself by washing your hands before eating and using serving utensils when eating out of common dishes.

Though there are no 100 percent effective means to avoid catching diseases, we can somehow minimize the risk.
1. Always wash hands before and even after eating.
2. Avoid places where there are already reported case of an outbreak.
3. Improve your immune system.(take rest to reduce stress and take Vitamin C)

I drink lotsa water and vitamin C everyday.

And I'm having a flu shot on Saturday.

girleh, lotta ppl have been so worried by this, nd i heard it'll stay for about 2 years which sucks a lot.. enyway,
just be clean nd stuff, wash yur hands after touching alot of things,
bring an antibacterial sanitizer wit yu if yu are going someplace,
if yur talking to someone, dont be that close to them,, get some space wen talking.. wellz thats just about it. just be clean because h1n1 is just a bacteria..

I guess you just keep sanitary and stay away from unsanitary places or sick people. Don't touch your face in public, try not to touch things too much. Certainly don't put fingers in your mouth in public after touching something. I live in the US and my friend who's a girl had it and she appeared to be fine. She said it was just like a normal flu. People just exaggerated it a bit.
