What should i name my new horse?

i've always loved big draft horses, and i own a few. i have two belgian geldings, a clydesdale mare, a percheron mare and i just purchased an 18.2hh black shire gelding. my horses names are as followed:
Duchess: dark bay clydesdale mare (17.2hh)
Rufus: chestnut belgian gelding (17.1hh)
Champ: light buff belgian gelding (17.3hh)
Belle: gray percheron mare (16.4hh)

the one i just brought home is a large black shire gelding and i'm not sure what to name him. i want something kind of mid-evil and majestic since he's a descendant of the "great horses". can you help me come up with some good ideas?

btw: he look's just like the horse in this picture.

Well, here are some medieval names...

    Bliss- not very masculine tho...
    Christian- i like this one.
Tristan- i like this one also.
    Ulric
    Rowan- probably my favorite!
Benedict- ha ha ha, please no!

Mmm, i really like rowan, its unusual, but it still sounds regal and masculine, KING rowan. and i think it would be a great name for a black gelding... but hey, your horse. and congrats! you must be so excited!

Well you could choose things from like:

    Drake
    Dilston
    The Prince of Wales
    Roland of York
    Dalton

: to things that show his personality, like:

Charger, Rocket, Boomer, Abercrombie, Ace, Allstar, Ambition, Ranger, Rebel, Royal Athlete, or Black Beauty if you wanted something like that.

But you said something more middle aged, so maybe something more like, Calvin, Cyrus, Cameo, Caesar or (Czer), or my personal favorite for a big black shire gelding: Caspian.

Just don't rush. Watch him for a long time and learn him, it will come to you. :-) Hope this helped!!

How about Duke....to go with Duchess. Many horses years ago were named Duke after the German, Iron Duke,..... Napoleon,..... The Duke of Wellington,..etc, etc.the list is long and all were massive animals with massive strength, yet underneath were soft as muck, extremely loyal and adored by everyone that had any contact with them. During many conflicts, long before mechanized vehicles were in use, these animals were the back-bone of many armies. They also were invaluable on many farms and today provide great pleasure to many people....

Yeah....I reckon Duke would be good, if only to keep Duchess happy..and he is a full hand higher!!!!

if he's taller than 17 hands then i would name him/her something like giant, jumbo, or titanic.

if he's smaller than that, I'd go with something like
    bona fide, classic, or orthodox.

    hope this helps!

my fave out of my choices:
    titanic and orthodox
