Help me find an item for my ho scale model train?

ive recenty purchase a model train the scale is ho
and i want to build my own track and so on and so forth
now what i want to do is get a wooden board make a street and on that street i wana make sord of like beams that will hold up another board which will hold the train but i am having problems finding any beams if you live in brooklyn and you see how the beams under the mta subway trains are you know exactly what im talking about

As an experienced model railroader I can suggest you go to your local hardware store and ask for a piece of 4 X 8 plywood and a couple of saw horses to act as legs for your train table. Let me give you a couple of links to help you along...
