try using msn messenger. i used that when i didnt have a cell to text people all over. never paid a cent. i'm surprised more people dont use it. just add the mobile number to your contacts and send them a message, they should receive a text asking if they want to accept your messages then it should work out fine

Jelaana is right, but its much easier if you have a yahoo account, which I'm not sure the phillipines are able to access yahoo, but if u can ask the question I'm guessing you can get on yahoo...what I do is go to my inbox, and somewhere on the left top area where the "inbox" is you have the option to text, either to another yahoo user, or to a cellphone, and ppossibly to any other email based site...and also, if you want you can go to xat chat.com to make your own chat box and put it on your own browser, on mysoace, facebook, any other html based site, or you can give the link of your chatbox to your friends, the ones you want to talk to, and you can all chat with one another, and like you requested, its all free...
