If you guys want to do your research you will find out that Raul has a strict work out and fitness regime with yoga, palates, eating right etc. He has a good batting eye and when you move from a curve ball, finesse pitching league (AL) to the fast-straight-ball league (NL) you will hit more Hr's
I do not think so, he is just doing so well because he has power to all parts of the field, and just switched from a shitty Mariner team in the AL to a stacked Philly team in the NL.
yes i do think in the PAST he has done roids...his hot hitting as of late is because he has protection in the lineup and plays in a hitter friendly park...what hes doing has been amazing tho
I suspect everyone, unfortunately. I especially suspect a man who is just about to turn 37, and has only hit more than 25 HRs in a season once (in '06), and already has 17...in May. Yeah, I would suspect so, but he is still innocent until proven otherwise (I guess).
Yes. When a guy hits 21 home runs in 162 game in 2008. Then in 2009 he has 17 homers in 41 games, there's usually something up. He has a career BA of .288, he's batting .350 now. His career high for home runs is 33, so its not like he's a slugger. Not to mention he's 36 so he should actually be on the downturn, not getting better. It's sad to say I think he's on steroids, because if anyone in today's MLB has honest improvement, they're accused of taking steroid's. But, in this case, I think it's steroids no doubt.
If he tests positive i will. but now i don't think he is on steroids. too small.
and he's in a major hitters park half of the time. now let's just stop accusing, realize that this guy has a lot of talent, and let the tests do the work.
Quite possibly, the guy is 37 years old... 37. Raul is a good hitter and one reason for this jump in production is certainly due to playing in a new ballpark. It has little to do with the protection has in the Phillies lineup. The M's had some pretty good hitters around him in past years. However, Safeco is a pitchers park and it showed in his modest production there. As an M's fan, though, I know he sucks in the outfield. He can't play defense at all and that's why they tried to trade him at the deadline last year and ultimately let him go to the Phillies as a free agent. He's most valuable as a DH and he's going to lose as many games for the Phillies with his lousy defense as he's going to win with is offense. It's a statistical fact that I suggest you look up. Another point that was brought up before that's very true is the Mariners don't get that much national exposure so most baseball fans around the country know how good (or bad) their players are until they're traded or signed in free agency. Take a look at the Erik Bedard deal for an example. The M's gave the O's their future for next to nothing.
