I need to learn basic French?

Question

I'm going to Africa in Sept 2009 and one of the commonly used languages is French. I need to learn basic French in 4 months. Maybe something that's inexpensive and that I could load on my mp3 player to listen to in the car or on my lunch break!

Africa is a big continent and depending to which country you go will determine if you must learn French, English or Portuguese.

I recommend you try Rocket French if that's the language you need to learn. I'm a happy member and there's a lot of activities you can take in the course to learn French fast.

If you want to learn basics, look around a bookstore for a good book. There are phrasebooks, cds, computer programs and other cheap things. There are cd and phrasebook packs that might come in handy for you. Some books are better than others, so find one simple for you.
