How will you summarize this quote by Charles Bukowski?

Please feel free to add any thoughts/comments about it.

========
If you’re going to try, go all the

way.

otherwise, don’t even start.

if you’re going to try, go all the

way.

this could mean losing girlfriends,

wives, relatives, jobs and

maybe your mind.

go all the way.

it could mean not eating for 3 or 4 days.

it could mean freezing on a

park bench.

it could mean jail,

it could mean derision,

mockery,

isolation.

isolation is the gift,

all others are a test of your

endurance, of

how much you really want to

do it.

and you’ll do it

despite rejection and the worst odds

and it will be better than

anything else

you can imagine.

if you’re going to try,

go all the way.

there is no other feeling like

that.

you will be alone with the gods

and the nights will flame with

fire.

do it, do it, do it.

do it.

all the way.

all the way.

you will ride life straight to

perfect laughter, its

the only good fight

there is.

And I’m doing it

Enduring the long distance between us

Facing myself when there’s silence and darkness

Working while loosing my passion for it

Living in a city that left me long ago

Pushing time forward

Trying to live my dream

Holding my future closeby

Reading Wilde’s words

And still smiling

Because

I’m doing it!

Impressive stuff, but I can't help feeling it would have been better if he had been willing or able to say what the "it" that he does, actually is.

It is none the worse for it, but it works as poetry by being sufficiently vague that we can all supply our own content.

It is pretty simple and self-explanatory.. anyway, it means that a person has a dream of being with the other person in another place, so he's going to do it it to be with her soon, in midst of hardships and meagerness.

Going all the way is not without planning. It must include all the ingredients of what has to be done, is it rightfully beneficial for you and for others, what are the risks, what is your goal, what percentage of accomplishments would you think you will be satisfied, what is plan B in case plan A may not give you what you want
Do not mind about rejection if it is something you believe firmly it will make the difference for the better. Most likely those who will oppose are just afraid of anything new but take ears also that what they see can be truly difficult or impossible and make it a guide to keep you abreast of every possibility or impossibility.
Do not mind failure if you are happy doing it. Learn from each downfall until you can find a way to have it done. Be sure you have someone younger whom you could think will continue the search in case you fail to accomplish it within your life time.
