it started in mexico and the mexicans brought it here, that's why they are saying stay away from the mexicans.
its like the flu, but its worse and it can kill you. i heard its in cali and its over here by me in new york. a school around me is infested with it & they closed it down for a few days. i'm real scared.

It didn't cause any deaths in the US.
    It is being exagerated.
Don't worry. Unless you feel sick don't worry.
The only infested school is in NY and is being closed down for several days.

Its a combination of avian, human, and pig flu. It started in Mexico and is slowly moving around the world. Around 80 people in Mexico have died from it and apparently has potential to be pandemic.

stay away from "mexicans" i happen to be mexican and i do not appreciate people being discrimatory like that! there are millions of people who are mexican who live in the u.s that are not contaminated so they need to stop being ignorant the people you DO need to stay away from is anyone who is sick... also wash your hands thoroughly and frequently do not touch your nose or mouth with dirty hands

    SWINE FLU

It is an illness that is very contagious that was caused by associating yourself with sick pigs.. it started in mexico and in other countries. I dont know much about it just that it is deadly

oh and the symptoms are like the flu

    cough,sore throat, potential diarreah, vomitting

It is something that you get from being around the animal pigs. At least that's what I heard. It has started in Mexico and it's fatal but if you catch it in time you will be fine. Wash your hands and stuff and if your not feeling right go to the Dr. asap!

Edit: The only school closed is not in NY. In Ohio there is one closed about 45 minutes from were I live!

its a disease from swine which is another word for pig. u can get it from being around a pig thats carring this disease or eating bad pork. it can also be spread from human to human, this is how america is now getting it b/c some ppl that went to mexico brought to the back to the u.s. theres been some deaths in mexico but hardly any in the u.s. b/c we can treat it.

Swine Flu is the next influenza pandemic that many scientists were predicating. It could possibly evolve to an epidemic that will require massive quarantining of certain groups of populations.

If you've ever seen the movie I Am Legend, it's something like that.

Not Mexican-Americans, but mainly those who come from Mexico. Illegal immigration and border jumping can easily spread this to the United States.

It's really bad in Mexico, 80-something people have died and 1,500 cases have been reported. Daily life in Mexico is in gridlock. Public gatherings were canceled yesterday, church services, etc. Lots of people are wearing surgical masks over their face. It's gotten so bad that Felipe Calderon has declared a state of emergency and is using his Presidential powers to manipulate the population. In a crisis, people vest their authority into one person who can take control of a situation...

There's two paths this disease can take. 1: It could fizzle out and we get back to our lives. 2: It will wipe out millions of people worldwide and dwindle the population of Earth.

Swine Flu is also a combination of Pig DNA, Human DNA, Bird DNA, and Viral DNA. This is why I believe that it was engineered in a laboratory either here or in Mexico. Someone released it onto the population hoping to dwindle down the numbers on Earth or cause bio-terrorism, knowing it would spread into the U.S. There is no ******* way that this virus "mutated". This is the result of cross-genetic engineering by a sinister group of scientists.

There's a lot of reasons I believe it was made in a laboratory. After all, scientists in the United States work with deadly viruses everyday and engineer many viruses. One could be a rogue agent and re-modify the Spanish Flu and release it onto the population. Simple. Effective. Deadly. This all relates back to a (crazy or correct) conspiracy theory concerning the Illuminati and their slow take over of world governments, but I'm not going to talk about that now.

There's no real cause to worry right now, but it can get out of hand if the White House Office and the National Institute of Health don't take matters into their own hands. I'm pretty sure this will blow over.

There is one more confirmed case in sacramento county, and 3 other pending cases in the same county, they are closing down an elementary school that all 4 of the effected kids went to, not sure which school though.

More and more cases are being confirmed on a daily basis. Everyone around here (Nor cal) is freaking out.

It started in Mexico...it is a disease from pigs, when pigs give the disease to birds ( ducks, etcetera) it, over time, becomes contagious to humans. It is likely to kill you when you have it, unless it is treated quickly. From airports, and Mexicans coming to the U.S. they have spread it to people, mostly from airports I believe people in the U.S. have gotten it. Dont worry, you dont have to stay away from Mexicans unless they have recently come or you see them coming from Mexico at an Airport. Just be careful, it is unlikely that you will catch the swine flu.

    hope i helped :)

why did ppl give me thumbs down? I thought I gave an okay answer? Whatever.

    Source(s):

I asked my Dad what it was when I first saw all the news articles about it. I was wondering just like you. This is what he said.

Pigs are also called swine!!! Swine flu is therefore is a mixture of
swine flu, bird flu, and human flu viruses.
The U.S. cases were primarily mild disease while the Mexican cases had led to multiple deaths. This is not because Mexicans are to blame or it's there fault anyone who's saying "stay away from Mexicans" are just ridiculous.
The death rate in mexico is so high because it's is a country that has low standards of democratic governments, industrialization and human rights.
Anyone who has been to Mexico will know that it's a very poor country and maby instead of putting money into unnecessary things governments should put some money into helping the Mexicans not blaming them.
It's fantastic place with fantastic people who have NOTHING and they still walk around with smile on their face and are polite to you.
I don't see this in places and people who have everthing they want.
