Why do people send me messages saying 900 and a microsoft points sign?

On Xbox Live people keep sending me a message saying "900(Microsoft Points Sign )

Why are they doing this, could anyone inform me on what is happenning?

Additional Details

They Are Also All Of My Mates That Send Me The Messages. Is It A Robot Doing it? 'Cos i've gotten about 20 Within the past 2 hours

There's a rumor going around that if you don't reply to two people, then your account will be hacked. Obviously this isn't true but I did it any way..... just to be on the safe side.

I've heard from many people that microsoft is giving away 900 microsoft points to whoever sends it to all their friends and recent players..

I tried it just to check and I still have my crappy 150 microsoft points..

Just delete the messages and ignore them..

There have been rumors that you will receive something from Bungie or Microsoft, even though it is not true. ignore them and move on. The 900 Microsoft symbol phase will pass.
