A question for those who have seen seven pounds.?

What do you think the meaning of the title is?
This is what I think.

He killed 7 people so he has a pound of weight on his shoulders for each person he killed, and each pound is lifted off with every person he helps.
This is just what I think what do you think?

And the whole jellyfish part, why do you think he used it?
I thought at first because he said he would never forget his father telling him it is so beautiful but is the most dangerous creature on earth. And then I got to thinking well he gets into a bathtub of cold water to keep his body from decaying and keeping his organs fresh, but I also think he used the jelly fish because if he overdosed that would mess up his heart and if he shot himself (ex. in the head) his eyes would be messed up. So im thinking he chose the jelly fish not only because it was beautiful but because he could save his organs.

Perhaps, the combined weight of the organs that he donated equaled 7 pounds. Just a thought. I think you are right about the jelly fish, it was a way to die without damaging the organs.

I just watched this movie and had some of the same thoughts! I looked up the seven pounds thing and I read that it's a Shakespeare thing about if you help someone you supposedly give them a pound of yourself. So that's why it's called seven pounds because he killed and helped seven people. I agree about the jellyfish because he couldn't really kill himself any other way and still preserve his organs. The only thing I thought wouldn't work is that I saw a special on jellyfish on the Discovery channel that said they poison your blood stream to stop your heart so I'm not sure if that would really work since he wanted to donate is heart.

Oh and I think he gave the old many one of his kidneys.

i am not exactly sure what he gave the old man but everything else is true. As for the title you are right "pounds" is a different way of saying he has a debt to pay
and since he killed seven people in the car crash he has 7 debts to pay off that is why he helps 7 people.
i think he did use the jelly fish to save his organs to help ezra and emily because like you said shooting himself in the head or overdosing will ruin those organs
