How do I use Firefox's Video Download Helper?

I've just downloaded Mozilla Firefox today..
And I downloaded the Video Download Helper add-on.
From what I understand, it's supposed to help you save thing like YouTube files onto your computer.
I've tried understanding how, but I can't seem to make it work :/

Can someone give me a really easy, simple, idiot-proof method of saving YouTube files onto my computer using the Download Helper?

Thanks a lot :)

1. When you install Video Download Helper it will place an icon on the toolbar for you. Normally it is de-activated (grayed out) like this:

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d108/j…

2. When you go to Youtube and are watching a video (it has to be playing), or another site that Video Download Helper supports, the icon will become coloured and it will animate:
http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d108/j…

3. When you see this, you can click on the icon and select the file you want to download:
http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d108/j…

4. You can save it to your computer. You will need to rename the file to mp4 (from flv), get a converter, or a stand alone flv player (VLC Media player is fantastic).

Hope this helps :)

    Mozilla Firefox >>> Add-ons >>> Download Helper

    1. Open your YouTube video, and run it.

    2. Soon afterwards, by default 3 balls (next to address bar) will start to circulate.

    3. Press it and choose, HQ (High Quality) or FLV.

    4. Click, Download

    Alternatives...
You can also use these sites to download videos from YouTube, http://keepvid.com ; http://vid23.com ; http://vixy.net ; http://videodownloadr.com

    1. Copy the URL of YouTube video and put into online downloader.

    2. Click on HQ or FLV and download.

Once downloaded enter the Youtube URL ( copy from address bar) and enter it into Vdownloader ...Select Output format to AVI if you want the video , If you just want the video soundtrack change output format to MP3 ( audio only) and then press download ...That's it
