Arizona State University denies Obama Honorary Degree, are they crazy?

He graduated top of his class at Harvard law and some crap school like ASU not giving him a honorary degree is a slap in the face. Hes the most historic president we've had since JFK.. why wont that crap school give him a honorary degree

They say he doesn't have enough experience to earn an honorary degree. Good for them! Wish American voters were that smart and told him when he got more experience he could run for president!

"It's our practice to recognize an individual for his body of work, somebody who's been in their position for a long time," Sharon Keeler, an ASU spokeswoman, told The Associated Press. "His body of work is yet to come. That's why we're not recognizing him with a degree at the beginning of his presidency."

No, not every president gets an honorary degree when he gives the commencement speech. My Alma mater gave one to daddy Bush but not to "W".

Just cause you go to popular high dollar schools don't mean you pass the class. Just cause Obama went to Harvard doesn't mean he passed at the top of his class. Lawyers go to school to mainly learn to Bullshit people out of money and a false sense of security. I haven't read anything about it. There are more important things on the plate of this country than which college doesn't roll over for Obama.
Maybe, just maybe, they do not bestow Honorary Degrees. Or if they bestow honorary degrees upon those presenting commencement speeches...well, that begs the question: Did Obama give a commencement speech at that college? And, if he did, WHEN did he give that speech? It is hardly the time of year for major colleges to be holding their commencement exercises. If he gave a speech before being elected President; then they are certainly not obligated any way to hand out an honorary degree to him.

ASU recognizes lifetime contributions by an individual advancing the Good of Mankind thru selfless pursuit without intent or expectation of reward or personal gain. In a short statement, ASU welcomes the President's planned address, but the University will not award an Honorary Doctorate as some have speculated since President Obama's career and accomplishments are too young to meet criterion.

In otherwords, he has done nothing that didn't advance the good of Barack Obama.

The only thing Obama has managed to do so far is get elected and raise the deficit. An honorary degree should be given for achievement, not for position. He hasn't achieved anything as President yet. I think it's a slap in the face to everyone that is currently working on a degree or has a degree to just give one away. I think the best gift they could give him is a Bible. He will need some Divine Intervention to pull us out of this crisis that congress initiated.
