A paper on "A Good Man Is Hard to Find" by Flannery O'Connor?

I need to do a research paper and I basically have writer's block. I think i want my thesis sort like...religion plays a big role in Flannery O'Connor's "A Good Man Is Hard to Find". Something like that. The paper is suppose to be 4 to 5 pages and 800 to 1000 words long.
I was wondering if anyone can give advice or tell me like what should i look for or put in the paper. I not a very good writer, i always try my best, but i'm more of a math person than an english person.
Also, what could be an opposite argument thesis statement to the one i put up?
I appreciate any help...thxz guys!!! ^_^

You could start by saying the subjects of the short stories range from baptism ("The River") to serial killers ("A Good Man Is Hard to Find") to human greed and exploitation ("The Life You Save May Be Your Own").
That will set up what you paper is about. Then for each of the three topics, you can add support and information.
