Charles Baudelaire, Le vampire... opinions please?

is charles actually talking about a vampire.... and does anyone know any other french poems about vampires.. pref female..... old ones please.

Yes, he is talking about a vampire, but it's more than likely a metaphor for the one who's stolen his love/heart/soul. The metaphor implies that he is no freer than a servant to a vampire and likewise, she controls him and takes everything he has to give without the warmth of a normal soul who loves. You could easily take it a face value, but I'm sure it was more metaphor than metaphysics.
