Is popov vodka really that bad?

Question

ok, so i wanted some alcohol and someone got me some popov vodka. i looked it up and have been hearing some negative feedback--not exactly what i wanted to hear...i have never had this brand myself and im wondering if it is really god awful as people say it is..

It's just vodka! I have used Popov many many times while being a broke 21 year old (years ago) and never had any issues with it. Some people say they will get a headache from cheap alcohol but it's probably all in their head.

I like the idea above of putting it in an expensive bottle and fooling everyone but if you don't have one, then just don't show the bottle and tell everyone it's grey goose or kettle one, if they say anything just laugh them off.

The important thing is to mix the vodka, dont drink it straight. Mix it with vanilla coke, or cranberry juice, or any fruity juice. Orange juice would be perfect, that really masks the taste. Grapefruit juice is amazing too. Good luck!

Eh, it's definetly not good. If you mix it with cranberry juice or something that really cuts the taste down, it's not THAT bad. Hell, it's cheap, right? Also, I heard if you run it through a Brita water filter about 5 times, it tastes better.

I'm not sure what that is.. but im sure it cant be as bad as MCcormicks which is what I use to drink in highschool.. so just man up and chase it down with somethin

its bad only if people know its popov. i know its less quality then the more expensive brands.. but i once bought a bottle and put it into an empty grey goose bottle and fooled all of my friends. everyone was talking about how smooth it is, how great it tastes, etc.. drink it with an open mind

its cheap and discusting. you could easily light it on fire.
if you want cheap vodka, get the kirkland vodka u can find at any costco. kinda tastes like grey goose

Any cheap vodka is pretty much guaranteed to be nasty.

If you're going to drink cheap vodka, a fairly cheap & easy way to make it palatable is to run it through one of those Brita water filter contraptions. It takes the nasty, lighter fluid edge off of it, and you can actually drink it neat without gagging on it.
