Give me one good reason why people would laugh at me for reading Proust?

The only person who would read someone like Proust is a Thinker. People who don't know how to think laugh at Thinkers.

Maybe because they've heard of him but they're not so sure about what he did.
I know him, I've read him, but I can't help thinking of Marcel Marceau every time I hear his name, lol :)
