It's one of my favorite quotes from Cummings and resonates with ideas I learned from Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Humans are a gregarious species and tend naturally to want to fit in. This isn't an entirely bad thing, except that it makes originality an unwelcome stranger. I actually have that exact quote on a profile of mine. It's a wonderful quote.

It is a rare person who does not succumb to the temptations of group think and sacrificing what they believe in order to "fit in." And he states why very eloquently.

People will fight against free thinkers, because they have no free thought of their own.

I have never seen such division in our society. I am retired at age 62. I spent 9 years in the USMC from my 17th thru 26th birthdays including two tours in Vietnam. I grew up in a big city chldren home, foster home system. Quit high school to join the Marines, just about 2 months after John Kennedy was assassinated.

I have seen alot to take sides about. I have watched this country rot from a relatively innocent and clean place to be in the 50's to the crap hole this country is today. Baby murders in the womb.Major exporter of porn. And now, the country is in the proper hands to be delivered to hell.

Yet, as a born again Christian, I have peace as my sustenance is not based on wealth or material things but I have fear for what I know is coming to others.

I am simply happy that God in his mercy, wanted to make me into someone else, anyone else, almost. He did and I am grateful, forgiven and feel it necessary to let you know the source of my strength is my faith in Jesus Christ.....and all this stuff and more, has been prophesied along time ago.
