Well, since Obama refused to be photographed with SF mayor Gavin Newsom in 2004 for fear of being associated with LGBT causes, I have to take his statement with a grain of salt (As I do with any comment from a politician).

Don't ask don't tell is soon to be repealed and ENDA is soon to be passed in congress.

(ENDA is the employment non-discrimination act which bans discrimination against gays in the workplace)
