MOMS of Yahoo! - What should I get my mother for her birthday?

She'll be 48 and I'm 18 and she said not to get her anything (her usual response to "what would you like for your birthday") so I'm stumped. I'm spending about $50 on her. She doesn't listen to any music in particular or have a favorite author. She doesn't want CDs or DVDs. She can't use scented, pretty soaps or shower gels so a basket of bath goodies is out. She's impossible to pick clothes for. She's not a lover of spas and I'm not getting her a gift certificate or anything as I want to get her an actual gift I can wrap. She really doesn't need anything SO ... what should I buy her?

Hey, that's me!(the mom). I don't want my kids spending their hard-earned cash on me, and I have everything I want. I do like though, getting a really nice card. Since you are real keen to spend more how about donating the rest in her name to a good cause, like an animal shelter or whatever and get a receipt and put it in with the card? You could put it all in a box and wrap the box.
