like whats the important difference between gas(fungible) and shoes(non fungible)?

All gallons of gas are the same. If you misplace a gas can you can buy a new one. All shoes are not the same. If you lose your shoes you can't just wear someone elses; it's gross and they'll be the wrong size.

Fungibility is the property of a good or a commodity whose individual units are capable of mutual substitution. Examples of highly fungible commodities are crude oil, wheat, precious metals, and currencies (money backed by a commodity such as gold, silver, and copper).
