Should I use "whom" or "who" in the sentence?

Which is correct?

"...a poem by Marge Piercy, who uses the..."
"...a poem by Marge Piercy, whom uses the..."

"who". "Whom" is used as a direct object. I always remember that you use "whom" when you can substitute the word "him" in there. "Who" is used when it is the subject of the sentence. Use "Who" if you can substitute the word "he" in the sentence. So, in this case, you would say, "he used the...", not "him uses the..." :)
