Heart of Darkness by Conrad is probably the shortest one I can think of from this list, though The Strange Case of Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde by Stevenson would be close-- and I think you'd enjoy it more than Heart. Wilde's Portrait of Dorian Grey wouldn't be too bad either.

H.G. Wells' Invisible Man or War of the Worlds aren't too bad.

I like Wodehouse's Jeeve series-- I find them very funny but they're not to everyone's taste.

Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte isn't too long. It's not one of my favorites, but other people love it. You might like Jane Eyre or Pride and Prejudice but they're a bit longer than some of the others I've named. I liked both of them a lot, but people's tastes differ.

Orwell's Animal Farm is shorter than 1984.

You might like Conan Doyle's The Hound of the Baskervilles.

I don't think you'd like James Joyce.

Good luck with finding something you'd like.
