What are some good vampire books?

Question

My favorite vampire books are Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. I also like Poppy Z, Brite's Lost Souls. So any books that are similar to these books would be good.

(Please don't recommend me Twilight. I read them and hated them. So don't recommend me any books that are like Twilight. Actually don't recommend me any vampire books from the teen section, unless you think I would really like it. Other than that, I don't like teen vampire romance novels.)

Additional Details

If it has romance in it? I would prefer homosexual romance. I don't know why, but they're kind of sad and funny to read. If not, I like the love you hate you kind of romance.

And, read Dracula by Bram Stoker. It's probably the most decent vampire book out there.

Christopher Moore has quite a few out. They are twisted and funny. I'm reading Mary Janice Davidsons series Queen Betsy. A little "racey" but funny.

I hate Twilight too and I loved these books. Especially Sunshine and the Historian.

the Cirque du Freak series!!!!

they are the best!!! its a vampire story
a kid goes to a freak show with his best friend. and the freak show is well, FREAKY! Darren (the main character) comes to the place where the show was and steals one of the acts, the spider. little did darren know is that his best friend would be bitten by the spider and come near death. Darren must chose between saving his friend, or becoming half vampire and assisting mr. crepsly. the original owner of the spider is a vampire, and is the only one known to Darren who has the anti-dote to this deadly venom. Darren choses to save his friend, and becomes a half vampire. this is his story of his like as a half vampire.

THIS STORY IS NOT LIKE TWILIGHT IN MOST WAYS.

the first is Cirque Du Freak, ask for that, and any library or book store will know what your talking about

Darren Shan saga there is 12 books it is kind of a teen book but they don't sparkle and their is no romance
