Looking for a new book to read ?

Question

Male, mid thirties looking for a good fiction book to read. A couple of favorite authors are Brett Easton Ellis, Nick Hornby, and Hunter Thompson. Looking for a new good author to get into. Any suggestions?

Try Christopher Brookmeyer, he is as dark as Ellis, funnier than Hornby, really entertaining.

Good Omens by Neil Gaimen and Terry Pratchett is a fabulous book too, never yet met a person who didn't love that book, whatever their tastes.

Have you tried Orson Scott Card? He tends to deal with human nature set in a futuristic setting.

Try Marcus Sedgewick's, "The Foreshadowing" if you havent already.
It was pretty good to me.

The Host by Stephenie Meyer was amazing, i also really liked the Cirque Du Freak series by Darren Shan, that was really good. The House of Night series by P.C. Cast and Kristen Cast is also a favorite of mine.

But yes, Hawthorne is an amazing author, and I adore his works.
I highly recommend his novel "The Scarlett Letter", and his short stories, especially from his "Mosses of an old Manse" <3

I'm also very fond of Arthur Miller, John Steinbeck, David Baldacci, Haruki Murakami and Franz Kafka.

Jeffery Deaver's "The Sleeping Doll" It's a mystery if you like that kind of stuff.
Also Jonathan Foer's "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" is a hard read but it is so rewarding at the end. You should try it but I would understand if you can't last through it.

How to Lose Friends & Alienate People by Toby Young, Then We Came to the End by Joshua Ferris, Smashed, Squashed, Splattered, Chewed, Chunked and Spewed by Lance Carbuncle, Chuck Klostermann, Augusten Burroughs, Christopher Moore...

Oh, and there's always Buk♥...Ham On Rye is probably my favorite of his.
