Where can I find new friends to talk to online?

Question

I am 21 years old and have virtually no friends other than my boyfriend. It's not like I'm mean or weird, but I don't like to party / drink the way most people I know do. I also suffer from depression and don't like to be around people on my "bad" days. I'd like to have some friends I could talk to online when I am feeling especially lonely.

I have met a few people on Yahoo messenger through the chat rooms that I chat with a few times a week. It is a start.
