DRM (Digital Rights Management) is software which controls how you can play, copy or burn music you have downloaded. For instance, DRM can prevent you from playing the music on certain MP3 players or restrict you to only being able to burn it to CD a certain number of times.
DRM free means there are no restrictions on your music so you can play or copy it as many times as you wish on any device, and burn it onto as many CD's as you wish.

DRM is a form of copyright protection that limits what you can do with computer files. It is most commonly used for music but it can also be used for movies and video games. Most Itunes downloads currently have a form of DRM on them. The usual consequences of DRM is that only the computer that originally had the file can use that file (aka it stops people from giving computer files away to their friends for free). Actually I just heard a rumor today that Itunes is getting rid of DRM soon.
Oh, and it stands for Digital Rights Management.

DRM stands for Digital Rights Managment.

Its on all iTunes songs, and prevents songs from being downloaded twice or on anything but an iPod, and cannot be burned on a CD.

This is what I hate about Apple.

You can get DRM- free safe music for the same price and cheaper on Amazon MP3.

    HIGHLY recommend it.
