Can you suggest a book for me to read?

I am Gregory, Master Poet, and I am looking for a good book to read this month. Please send me suggestions. I enjoy French Romantics (i.e. Gustave Flaubert), Italian postmodernists like Italo Calvino, and current Japanese writers like Murakami Haruki. Thx in advance.

I don't know much about French Romantics but I usually find it enjoyable to grab a book that's outside my normal reading.

As for Japanese writers . . . . Haruki's "after the quake" is amazing; I've read it 3 times so far, and each time it's like another veil has been lifted. His "After Dark" and Mishima's "The Sailor Who Fell From Grace With the Sea" also throb beneath the words.

I haven't read Flaubert's "Sentimental Education" but have heard it's quite good.

Ben, that's Iain Banks. Just read his "The Bridge," which blew me away! Haven't read "Wasp" yet.
