I was wanting to read a book by Gertrude Stein. Can you recommend her best title? or one that would be great to begin with...

There is a wonderful book called 'Gertrude and Alice' by Diana Souhami.
It focuses on the relationship between Gertrude and Alice from the time they met in 1907 until Gertrude's death in 1946.
I thoroughly enjoyed it, it gives a very interesting insight into Gertrude and also contains some wonderful photos.
It was first published by Pandora Press in 1991.
I realise it is not what you are asking about but it is worth a read.
