why did he change the rock that coraline uses into salt water taffy? STUPID! why did he change the miss spink and miss forcible monster into a taffy monster? STUPID! why did he? he is ruining the mystery of the book! this isn't a joke its a movie! also why did he make coraline say oh my god? that is taken into offense for a lot of christians out there i was really looking forward to this movie. i still am but yah.

saying "oh my God?" how is that offensive in any way whatsoever? It's like calling out to your God, that makes no sense to me how it could offend christians.

Christians believe in not taking the lords name in vain. Last i checked however Gods name was God, that would be insinuating that only Christians have a god. Furthermore that seer stone wasn't made of taffy it was in a bowl of it.
ok, the stone was in the saltwater taffy, it wasn't made out of it. And the "candy monster" was only in the otherworld, not in the real world.

- He was using his artistic outlet. Tim Burton is one who has ALWAYS been known to think outside the box and create whole new worlds within the imagination. Look at "Legend of Sleepy Hollow". Though he followed the story somewhat, he changed it enough to make it his own. Artistic integrity at its finest.
