Information on organizations that can re-use my Father's prosthesis (an artificial leg) after he passed away.

Although they are custom made and quite expensive, my Mother hated the idea of throwing something that expensive away.

We got several leads on organizations that rebuild them or re-use the parts, that can put it to good use!

Although I did delete the question due to some of the rude comments, not before saving the information from all of the useful answers.

I agree with this statement.

If you want something done then do it yourself, which i normally end up doing because once again, this is supposed to be a helpful site, but it is not helping me.

I received a review on a car I wanted to buy, which was very helpful because then I didn't have to search for reviews and read through them all.

P.S. I ended up buying the car and I love it (2009 Honda Fit).

This year there were two areas on Yahoo! Answers that were very helpful to me. First of all the entire Wedding section was great as I was planning my own wedding recently. I got great advice from favors to invitations, and most especially, on relaxing, enjoying the day, and not sweating the small things. Wedding answerer's really know their stuff!

Secondly, I continually get great tips in the travel section. It's awesome to hear from people who actually live in the areas I'm inquiring about because they point out all the little secret wonders of their region that tourists may not know about.

Thanks for all the great advice you guys give out!

While the answer was not directed to one of my questions, while answering someone about chronic headaches, I found an answer posted by another user. This answer suggested that chronic dehydration could be the problem. Since I also suffered from chronic headaches, I tried following the person's advice regarding hydration -- and discovered that it not only helped my headaches, but also my chronic muscle spasms and some pain I had in my toes. This solution was one that even my neurologist had not offered in 10 years of suffering. I'm forever grateful to that person for their posting.

I've also received a lot of emotional support from my fans, along with some good responses to the few questions I've asked.

I think Yahoo! Answers has been useful to me in a lot of ways. I totally love music and sometimes consider myself the music mastermind, but every so often I hear a song on the radio and I have no clue who the artist is!? Everyone here is so helpful!. The community even goes as far as to link me to the video, give me the lyrics or recommend their favorite songs.

Sometimes I don't even ask a question. I find useful advice and information by just searching the categories. It's great everyone shares their knowledge. Thanks everyone.

Here's some of the advice that I got from the Answers community so far this year:
1. Getting some computer help for my sister
2. Dealing with falling in love with an online chatmate
3. Knowing how much to water a plant sapling
4. Asking for some advice on how to run a home business
5. Knowing what to do after bringing a puppy home and caring for it

I hope to get more advice on anything on my mind in the coming year. In the meantime, I will conversely give out knowledge on anything imaginable.

I really appreciate the DIY and cleaning tips, especially strategies for handling clutter. Thankfully, there are people in the Answers community who are a lot more organized and handy than I am and I have been able to benefit from their common sense.

I was told that I was on my own, and that Yahoo would do little to protect myself or my children from the rampant abuse that infests this site. I am glad I heeded that advice, and protected myself.

I received advice on how to spot malware. After clicking on one malware link and having paid a small fortune for repairs, I learned how to spot them quickly. Now I report them and Y!A removes them within seconds. Keep up the good work.

Well the MOST useful advice that I got was advice on where to get quality bras on a budget.


I also had some vocabulary help.

I don't ask a lot of Q's, but I learn a lot just by reading through many other peoples interesting questions. I really get much more gratification when I answer questions & know that I have helped somebody else with a problem, or a situation.
That's what keeps me coming back.
