Um no. Lucy Mack Smith did not marry Brigham Young. But Joseph had a lot of women sealed to him that didn't live as wives with him. I don't know about the rest of them. But if they were already sealed to Joseph, why would they need to be sealed to Brigham?

Yes some of the wives sealed to Mormon founder Joseph Smith Jr. for eternity later married Brigham Young and were only sealed to Young for life.

Those wives are:

Wow, some crazy info on here. I'm no longer LDS but Emma Hale Smith did not marry Brigham Young. It was quite well known that Emma did not like Brigham Young and when Joseph died at Carthage Jail, she had had enough of Mormonism and the trappings that went with it. She would not leave and go West with Young but stayed in Illinois with her remaining children. Offspring of Joseph and Emma began the RLDS church and believed that only a descendant of Joseph Smith could be prophet.

Emma had been put through a lot of emotional entanglements in her life with Joseph. He told her that if she did not go along with him marrying or being "sealed" to other women (young girls and other men's wives - it's all there on the official LDS web site, don't even try to dispute it) that terrible consequences would come upon her. Pure blackmail. It is no wonder that she chose to stay while most went on to Utah; she had enough of it all.

well you know any info you get is from an anti-mormon site and if it were true, the mormon chruch would not put out this info to pro tect joseph smith memory, I already looked on lds.org and could not find such info except for emma, and you and I know Joseph smith saw an angel with a sword come to him and tell him that he would be killed if he did not practise it, at least in my UT mormon history, this is what I was taught, but once again, I was never told the name, just brigham young's wives because of the beehive house. If thsi happen, it was probably form some jewish practise were the brother took his dead brother's wife to be his wife, and in this case the prophet took the other prophet's wives, to be his.
