If I buy a Volkswagen 1.9 diesel and buy the conversion kit I want to know how I can make the stuff and there plenty of fast food places here willing to give up grease.

Well the cheapest processor cost about $1500, and it can cost $0.50-$1.50 a gallon depending on where you get your chemicals and alcohol, and assuming you got your oil for free. You could build your own for less but It is better to have a professionally made one or at least work with one before making your own. The waste product can be used to make soap and you can recover some of the alcohol to use again. There is a tax but not for offroad use.

The power could change depending on how good your are at controlling the process. Older VW's and Mercedes don't seem to change at all when using biodiesel and wvo. For waste vegetable oil you need a conversion kit not for biodiesel.

The process works like this:

-Filter and heat the oil.
-Test then titration.
-Circulation.
-Remove waste products.
-Wash with water.
-Put in tank.
-Smile.

For details I highly recommend this website. When there click on biofuels library. They have multiple techniques for the process from the point of view of many people. www.journeytoforever.org They also have info on ethanol, methane, etc.

Good luck, Brandon

well, it takes $5 worth of chemical to make 5 gallons. Then you have 1 gallon of hazardous waste that you must pay to get rid of, Then you will still owe $.50 gallon tax. Finally you will consume about $3 worth of energy in the process. Next, if the outside temperature ever drops below 40 F, the stuff will freeze up and you will have to heat it.

Finally, no car manufacturer will warrant the use of 100% homemade bio diesel, you do not need a conversion kit to use 5% to 20% bio diesel.
