Here's a rough sketch of the left hand of Emily Middleton's transcription, in B flat:

It started out as a feeling
                         G                   F
Which then grew into a hope
                            Bfl        A
Which then turned into a quiet thought
                            G                           F
Which then turned into a quiet word
      F                                      F
And then that word grew louder and louder
D                                G/
'Til it was a battle cry

Efl/D                Efl
I'll come back
                 F/   Bfl
When you call me
G                                     F
No need to say goodbye

Βfl                                               A
Just because everything's changing
                        G
Doesn't mean it's never
                                   F
Been this way before

Bfl                                         A
All you can do is try to know

Who your friends are
     G                                   F
As you head off to the war
F                                   F
Pick a star on the dark horizon
        D                     Efl/
And follow the light

Efl/     D               Efl
You'll come back
                F/ Bfl
When it's over
G                                      Efl
No need to say good bye

Efl/     D               Efl
You'll come back
                F/ Bfl
When it's over
G                                      Efl
No need to say good bye

G/D/G/D/G/D/G/D
F/C/F/C/F
G/D/G/D/G/D/G/D
E/Bfl/E/Bfl/E/Bfl/E/Bfl
G/D/G/D/G/D/G/D
F/C/F/C/F
G/D/G/D/G/D/G/D
E/Bfl/E/Bfl/E/Bfl/E/Bfl
G/D/G/D/G/D/G/D
F/C/F/C/F
E/Bfl/E/Bfl
Bfl

Bfl                                       F
Now we're back to the beginning
                     G                                 Efl
It's just a feeling and no one knows yet
      Bfl                                       F
But just because they can't feel it too
                     G                                    Efl
Doesn't mean that you have to forget
F                                              F
Let your memories grow stronger and stronger
D                                          Efl
'Til they're before your eyes

Efl/     D              Efl
You'll come back
                F/ Bfl
When it's over
G                                      Efl
No need to say good bye

Efl/    D                Efl
You'll come back
                F/ Bfl
When it's over
G                                      Efl
No need to say good bye

The notes are above the words, at approximately the place where they change in the lyrics. A slash after a note indicates that the note that follows occurs within the same measure, but two of the same note within a single measure may be an octave appart. You'll have to listen to the song for the temporal values, e.g., five notes may be four eighths and a half or two eighths and three quarters, etc. It shouldn't be too tricky, and there's only one note provided for most of the measures. You can use a basso continuo technique to improvise through the rest of the measure once you get comfortable with it, or just play chords or arpeggios. It's a beautiful song, have fun!
