The Japan-Korea Annexation Treaty of 1907 made Korea a protectorate of Japan. This treaty limited Japanese power over Korea in regards to appointment of high ranking officials and diplomatic relations.

The Japan-Korea Annexation Treaty of 1910 gave Japan complete sovereignty over Korea.
