My foster daughter has been looking for some good reading help?

She is into authors like Neil Gaiman, J.K Rowling, J.R.R. Tolkien, Poppy Z. Brite's "Lost Souls" and whoever the author of "Doom knee deep in the dead" is. If you know of any authors of books like what are listed above please tell me, I want to get her some new reading material, she recently fell back into a steady reading habit and this is one that I like so I'd like to keep this one up.

Additional Details

I forgot to mention this and sorry to those who mentioned it.. But she didn't like twilight. She read it and said that she regreted having picked it up in the first place. Something that's not typically a young readers book. Something that yourself would read. Yes harry potter is young readers and Neil Gaiman is, but they both appeal to adults because of the story behind the story the morals as it were. She is looking for something deeper that makes her think.

Both the Twilight and Inheritance book series are terrible. Twilight is very juvenile and anyone who is a big fan of Tolkien will see Inheritance as a blatant and poorly executed rip off of Tolkien's mythology.

I'm a HUGE fan of Gaiman, Tolkein, and Rowling. Some other books that I greatly enjoyed are:

-the Book of Lost Things by John Connolly

-His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman

-Inheart, Inkspell, and Inkdeath by Cornelia Funke (Inkheart is kind of boring, but Inkspell was great)

-anything by Terry Pratchett, he wrote "Good Omens" with Neil Gaiman so I'm sure she'll love him.

-the Historian by Elizabeth Kostova
