Madagascar 2, your thoughts parents?

Question

I saw this movie tonight with my kids. I wasn't impressed. Beating up of an old woman I thought was highly inappropriate since we are trying to teach our children to be respectful towards their elders.

There was just so much in the movie that was not for kids, I know they THINK they need to add adult humor, wrong, the movie is targeted for young children and should be made that way

I completely agree! I hate when i see kid movies with violence that is suppose to be funny and jokes and phrases that are sexual. I think it was too sexual and violent and yet they made it like it was funny! Good thing my son is only 1 years old Lol And anyway he didnt sit well through out the movie. I dont ever think in any way that it's ok to make it seem like beating someone up or saying something sexual is funny and ok for kid movies! Happy Feet was the same when the Penguin slid and bumped into the girl Penguin all the positions they ended up doing. I was so mad when i saw that but it was just me and my husband.

I did not like the 1st one, so I will not be watching the 2nd. There were things in the first I did not enjoy, and I know there will be even more things that I won't like in this one.

I wish they would leave adult humor for adult movies, even if the children don't understand.

I think some parents make such a huge deal about some things like this.

It was made for kids.Does it mean their gonna go off and beat a granny?no

I love that movie.Its so funny, and you know what?I belive there is nothing wronge with it.

I hate those stupid movies where its like heck to sit through.Like watching dora the explora kinda movies.*shudders* Ive had to watch things like that.About 2 hours in my life that I will NEVER GET BACK.

you knew it would have adult humor if you saw the first one.. so your bad for ignoring that. and also they dont see the adult humor.. they are watching the crazy animals. i watch stuff now that ive watched when i was a kid, and see in way differently.. i didnt notice the bad stuff as a child.

I haven't seen it yet, but I did like the first one. I was thinking about taking my nephew to go see it this weekend, but I'm not so sure after these responses! That scene about an old woman that you mentioned bothers me a bit--I think I may have to make other plans with him!

Oh wow, I wanted to see it too, as my daughters loved the first one. Well thanks for this maybe we will just wait for the DVD.
