Should I sign up for unemployment?

Question

I was hired on at a home improvement store about 18 months ago as a seasonal worker. I stayed employed there working on average 30 hours a week until Sept. At that point, I was only working 5 hours a week and it was not worth the 25 miles drive to get to work with high gas prices.
I left the job the first week of October, but have been unable to find another job.
I know I am not able to get unemployment benefits, but should I register with my county or something? I have never been unemployed like this before.

Please register your name at your country hr department, they have a list of of company and job vacant near by. it is easy for you to search for a job.

Since you left the job on your own, not being laid off by the employer, you are not eligible for the unemployment benefit.

There are more jobs (seasonal) available in anticipation of Christmas rush. Go apply at stores/places nearest to your home.

Might as well. You're paying for it. Take advantage of the system.
