"we don't see things as they are, we see them as we are."?

I always like seeing that Anais Nin quote etched into a ladies room mirror in the Salt Lake City Public Library. I guess it means that we're always bias to seeing things from our own eyes...how do you interpret it?

We interpret things according to our way of thinking and not what it could really be. We all will see perhaps this quote and get different interpretations because of our thought process.

Everything we see and hear is filtered through our experience so we cant see them without our own interpretation getting in the way.
