I need help, my vagina smells? is this normal?

I wash frequent, I always take a shower everyday and last time I didnt take a shower was in March when I caught a bad sickness. But other than that, I always thoroughly clean my Vagina. For instance, I washed my Vagina an hour ago and now it smells, it does not smell fishy or anything but I guess it's what people would say, a Vagina smell? is it normal?

I want it to not have any smell whatsoever, how can I do this?

When I am in school especially, and I pee, I can smell the scent

is this normal?

serious answers only please

P.S. I use a lot of feminine wipes and also products.

maybe you're payin a little too much attention to it. like cleaning wise,
if you clean it constantly it will probably smell differetn sooner.
try to ease up a little, and not to stick ur nose down there
then it wont be so bad. clean it every 2 days or so and make sure to wipe really good. also wear cotton panties and maybe dont wear any in bed "air it out"
its a good idea.

Take a long deep bath and when you go to bed don't wear underwear so you let your vagina breath, i don't wear underwear to bed because i think you should let your vagina breath ~ Don't wear extra tight underwear give it some room to breath, eat lots of fruit and vegetables ~ and drink lots of water

    Source(s):

Hey i know this girl who had this problem ~ Her docter reccomended that she shouldnt wear underwear ( even during the day ) She would wear light boxer shorts under hear school dress, and told me her problem that if she wore underwear it would cause her to start smelling easily because it wasn't breathing properly I don't know what caused it to smell but drink alot of water, and eat plenty of vegetables ~

You most likely have bacterial vaginosis, usually it is caused because a woman's anus is so near her vagina, wiping front to back when using the toilet helps, and making sure you shower or are very clean down there before having sex (all that thrusting can get that bacteria in there) will help.....you need some medication from your doctor to make it go away, don't feel bad it happens, it is part of a woman's plumbing that we have to deal with at times.

over washing your vagina can cause thrush, which might explain the smell.

other than that, they all smell a bit. its just the way they are.

Vaginas have a smell in general, so it won't just not smell.

Pee is always going to smell too, but if the scent of your urine is particularly strong look towards your diet, as that can most definitely cause a change in scent down there.

Do you eat a lot of fatty foods and junk foods? That usually does it. Eating acidic foods, like fruit, can make it smell (and coincidentally, taste) a lot better.

If you don't think it's your diet you might want to consider going to a doctor to make sure it's not an infection or anything.

Well all vaginas have a unique scent that your partner is actually attracted to. I used to think mine smelled weird too but my boyfriend says it turns him on. It's not a bad smell, it's just weird lol. You should go to a doctor IF your vagina has a fishy smell though. That could be a yeast infection. Don't douche. That messes up the pH balance in your vagina. You can't really get rid of your vagina smell. Every vagina has it's own unique scent. Don't worry about it :)

I'm a guy so obviously I can't say I've experienced this, but my girlfriend has and she talks about it ALL THE TIME. We're both medical students with good knowledge of anatomy, and after lots of discussions over it and come to some pretty good conclusions.

The first things is that, yes, a vagina usually always has a "vagina smell". This is caused by several different things. Mainly, the vulva (the "vaginal area", whatever you want to call it) contains merocrine sweat glands. These are a different type of sweat glands that are on most of your body, but they are in your armpits as well. The sweat they release tends to be "thicker" and contains chemical compounds and pheromones that smell. Since that's a "cramped" area and you probably sweat a lot down there, the sweat probably causes a lot of the smell. Also, the vaginal lubricants can also contain chemicals and pheromones that smell: we (my gf and I) have found that this really changes a lot, usually depending on what week of her "monthly cycle" she is on.

This is probably pretty obvious too, but pee smells. When you pee, some of it gets spread around down there and stays, so that would definitely add to the smell. That's the easiest to fix though: just go wash and the smell will be gone. Washing will help with the sweat smell too, but you can't really control the lubricant smell, if that is part of it. Overall though, a vagina is going to smell like "something": you can't completely get rid of it unless you wash like every thirty minutes. It's not bad though, it's just a normal thing. So as long as it doesn't "stink", it's ok if it smells.

Anyway, I hope that helps you somewhat

It sounds like you had what I have. Go to the doctor and describe your symptoms about anything down there. Any pain, just anything. You could have a UTI. That's what I had. They give you antibiotics and it should be cleared within days. Mine was cleared in about 3.

P.S. I use a lot of feminine wipes and also products

On this note please keep in mind over washing and over use of feminine products can potentially strip your vagina pf natural ph which in turn causes a infection. I suggest seeing a Doctor if uncomfortable

rose is right on it. I love the smell of my girlfriends vagina. But if it is fishy and there are discolord discharge it points tourds a yeast infection and be careful with wipes and such my girlfriend simply used water and lotion.

    Source(s):

my girlfriend once used a hair removal product on her vagina and it caused massive eritation and discharge so maybe an alergic reation to the wipes also.

Everyone is different, and every woman can have a different odour... this can be perfectly normal.
The only way that you can check to see if you are NORMAL is to see your doctor.
If you have any vaginal discharge out of the ordinary this could mean a fungal disease (clamydia) which is fixed with medicine from any pharmacy (drug store).
Sometimes taking anti-biotics can actually cause a vaginal/fungal disease. This may have happened in March..
So please go and see your doctor!!!
This is the only way that your mind can be put to rest.
If you have parents who you dont want to know (not that I advocate lying to parents - but white lies sometimes have to be...) just tell them anything to get to the docs.
But usually honesty is the best policy, mum has most def had it herself. This is a very normal part of life. Very, very normal.
And there are "female deodorants" for the vagina - see the pharmacy (over the counter). But you use a "lot",of product, maybe more reason to see your doc.
Also a lot of air helps... going commando (eg no underwear) helps the area to breathe - stopping bugs which love the warmth of synthetic underwear. Make sure all your underwear is cotton!!! Keep those bugs away. Wear skirts, not jeans all the time. And sleeping in the nude isnt that bad an idea... and having no underwear on at home that isnt a problem at all.
    but see your DOCTOR!!!
    Hope this helps....
