Electronic or print sources?

Im working on my first research paper and I am required to use at least two print sources and three electronic sources.

I am doing my paper on the controversy of Brett Easton Ellis' 'American Psycho'. Besides the book itself, I cannot find any other books about him or 'American Psycho' to meet the print sources criteria. If I use a online database provided by my school and found news paper articles from like the New York Times, that were once in print but I found online, can that be used as a print source?

You'd have to ask your instructor to be sure, but a newspaper article should count as a print source no matter where you found it. If the instructor won't allow it, you can find most newspapers on microfiche at any good library.
