Dose Asian people really eat cats?

In some parts of Asia people eat cats and dogs. In China I think it's just some regions, I'm not sure someone in a sophisticated area like Downtown Shanghai would eat them, it may just be the rural areas. In Korea they eat dogs but it is a choice & not all people would choose to eat them. In Japan they don't eat cat or dog & most people don't eat whale either (particularly younger people) so I don't know why they still kill them.

But most Asian people living in the West don't eat cats or dogs, in fact they would be highly offended at someone suggesting that. Alot of Asian people have cats and dogs as pets remember. Not to eat.

I am Asian, but never have I eaten a cat ever. And I would never do that.

Yes but people eat pigs which are very intelligent and make very good pets and at airports can sniff out drugs and explosives.The old expression "One mans meat is another mans poison" so people who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

In Korea and China there are some traditions of eating dogs and cats but this isn't practiced by many people anymore. I've actually had friends go to Korea and try to find dog and they had no luck. This is really no different than eating a cow or a pig or a horse. They are all intelligent and living animals. People here eat rabbits which are just as cute and cuddly as cats. I'm the kind of person who thinks eating any animal is wrong, but I'm just saying if you can eat a steak there shouldn't be a problem with eating a cat.

The term "Asian people" covers a big territory. I have heard that some people in certain regions of China will eat cats and dogs and whatever. If that is true, then that would exclude people from Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Thailand, etc. Therefore it would be correct to say that most Asian people do not eat cats.

I hope people in general don't criticize all Asians in eating cats and dogs, cause I sure don't. I respect my animals.
