I think Catcher in the Rye is easy to understand. The style and words used by the writer is easy to comprehend even in the contemporary times.
It just needs a deeper understanding and of course, literary appreciation.
After all reading is all about boosting your knowledge, widening your interests and developin your intellectual capacity.
