Anyone going to the Star trek Convention in Vegas in 2009?

I have dreamt of going to this convention for years and finally I bought my tickets and now I find out that Star trek the experience is closed and there's nothing left to see. Ive never been to a big trek convention before, does anyone know if the Con will be good this year without Quarks, borg4d rides etc.. ?

I bought my gold class package yonks ago - This will be my first convention - I'm very excited!!

I too have been toying with the idea of going to a large convention but keep putting it off. I was thinking about it but am having reservations about visiting a hilton hotel after them and ceder entertainment killed the experience. But if I do decide to go to a convention I am there to have fun and to be immersed in the star trek universe not to rehash old wounds. At least I got to see the experience twice , The first when she first opened and the second when the borg ride opened. could not make it to the closing, but the fond memories will keep me happy in the future. But there will be a big hole missing when I go to vegas in the future nothing will be the same again. There will be allot of adjusting to do and even more grieving but to answer your question it will be different with out HER there and a little sad too. So if you go have a drink and toast the good old lady and say thanks for the memories.

They are negotiating for a new venue.

There is some conflict between what was reported on the news and Creation Entertainment website. Creation Entertainment has the convention it posted on their website http://www.creationent.com/cal/stlv.htm
